March 01, 2021

Dear Resident,

The original Expo Line has been in service for more than 30 years, and the SkyTrain tracks between Main Street-Science World and Commercial-Broadway have carried more than two million trains.  We're replacing aging SkyTrain track, including rail and rail pads, to help ensure a smoother and quieter ride for our customers, and to help ensure the Expo Line remains safe and reliable for years to come.

From March 2021 until winter 2021-2022, we'll be replacing the portion of track between Main Street-Science World and Commerial-Broadway stations, including 6,700 metres of rail and 14,100 rail pads.  As crews gradually work along the line, neighbours can expect nighttime noise for periods of up to two weeks at a time. This will involve intermittent cutting and grinding of steel, diesel-powered work trains, and the hositing and placement of steel, including impact noise.

Nighttime work will occur from approximately 10 p.m. until 4 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Customers can expect modified service between several stations during this time. To stay up-to-date on the specific details for your area, please visit translink.ca/keepmoving. For potential impacts on your commute, please visit translink.ca/alerts.

We appreciate your understanding as we work closely with the contractor to minimize the impact of this project.

Sincerely,
